The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) is a directed adopted by the European Union in February 2003. The directive took effect in July 1, 2006 and was required to become law in each member state. The RoHS Directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials used in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.
As pertaining to brass and the brass rod products manufactured by Mueller Brass Company, they are exempt from the RoHS Directive as specified in Section 6 of the Annex to RoHS concerning allowable concentration exceptions.
Another directive closely linked to the RoHS Directive is “WEEE”. The European Union has adopted the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive (WEEE) which specifically pertains to the disposal of electronic
devices and equipment.
The brass rod products manufactured by Mueller Brass Company are not subject to the WEEE Directive per Article 3a.
